Hotel life

Well, it’s day ten of living out of a suitcase and eating every meal out, and by now, I’m actually looking forward to being able to cook at home. School starts back up on Thursday, so we’ll probably be driving back home on Wednesday. I still don’t have electricity at my house and probably won’t for a while since the power supply got ripped from the back of the house, so I’m not exactly sure if I’m going to have to find someone to stay with so I can function until we get power back. Considering there are still a lot of people without electricity and many students whose houses are still under water, it seems to be a little early to be continuing classes. Oh well. We’ll see. I do think I’ll miss all of the activities that have occured while we’ve been in Dallas. Chad and I are going to the zoo tomorrow, so I’m excited lol. Goodnight, Tumblr.

Aftermath

Well, I’m currently in north Texas, about 300 miles from my home. It seems it may be a month (or longer) before I can go back because of the extensive damage Ike caused to the electrical system (not to mention debris from flooding and wind damage being cleared from the streets). It doesn’t help that the damage ranges from Lousisana to west of Houston, so there’s a limited amount of people to start working on getting power up and running for our area. From what I’ve heard, my house is okay. I didn’t have anyone make a full walk-through around the back of my house, but from the front they only saw some limbs in the yard. I’m very thankful. Hopefully tomorrow we’ll find out if FEMA is going to cover hotel rooms because we’re quickly running out of funds. I believe they will, and I’ll make sure to get a place with wi-fi, so I can keep you updated. Prayers go out to all of the victims of Hurricane Ike, and I hope everyone and their homes are safe.

Evacuation #2

Well, internet, I will probably have to leave you for a couple days (if not longer). Hurricane Ike is being a bit of an asshole. I’m going to go pack, and we’ll be leaving first thing in the morning…

You wouldn’t think that the pre-recorded menu for the Schumpert Hospital Cafe in Shreveport, LA would be worth calling, but you would be wrong.

…seriously, call it.

Really, do it. lmao.

She is so full of shit. You can hear the forced cry in her voice. That bitch went to eat lunch with 8 dogs in her truck. She could have gone to lunch after she brought them back to the shelter. It’s her fault. Just imagine if your pet got loose only for her to pick it up and let it die of heat exhaustion while she was enjoying a meal. I can’t stand some people.
